Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base feature lets you upload content that the AI will use to answer visitor questions more accurately. This is powered by RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology.

How It Works

  1. You upload documents, add URLs, or paste text content
  2. Flow Chat processes and indexes your content
  3. When visitors ask questions, the AI searches your knowledge base for relevant information
  4. The AI uses this context to provide accurate, specific answers

Adding Knowledge Sources

Documents

Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD

  1. Go to your widget settings
  2. Click the "Knowledge" tab
  3. Click "Upload Document"
  4. Select your file (max 10MB)
  5. Enter a name for the source
  6. Click "Upload"

The document will be processed and indexed. You'll see the status change from "Processing" to "Indexed" when complete.

URLs

Add web pages as knowledge sources:

  1. Go to the "Knowledge" tab
  2. Click "Add URL"
  3. Enter the full URL (e.g., https://example.com/faq)
  4. Enter a name for the source
  5. Click "Add"

The page content will be scraped and indexed. This works best for documentation pages, FAQs, and content-rich pages.

Note: Only the single page at the URL is indexed, not the entire website.

Plain Text

Paste custom content directly:

  1. Go to the "Knowledge" tab
  2. Click "Add Text"
  3. Enter a name for the content
  4. Paste or type your text content
  5. Click "Add"

This is useful for adding custom FAQs, product descriptions, or any content not in document form.
